You saw it in 3D not HD but IMAX will deliver trust me…
hey man! not sure what you mean by HD. since films resolution is way higher than what we call HD meaning 1080p. but either way its going to be awesome!!!
Avatar will premiere in most cases digital depending on which theaters it’s playing in. IMAX will support true 3D-HD and digital. Some theaters are not even digital or rear project which means it will be analog for picture and sound which will suck! As long as a theater is digital it will look near HD but not true HD unless it’s on a large IMAX white screen or blu-ray disc.
As for HD resolutions these are the best formats to date.
1920x1080p – True HD
1920x1200p – True HD beyond!
2560x1600p – Quad HD – The Best!
IMAX will show in true HD3D LOL! Why did you delete my prior post? Did I get to tech savy for you? LMAO! But it’s all true!
Avatar will be best seen in an IMAX theaters for true-3DHD or if you want close to 3DHD then a digital theaters that are DLP certified will bring you one step closer. For the rest there’s always classic analog theaters but it won’t look has nice like IMAX or DLP. Most folks have never even seen a movie in a digital theater because there’s only a couple of them in the U.S. and one happens to be right here in Las Vegas, NV

Papo what i still dont understand (and mind you i thank you very much for explaining it all to me!) is why 2560×1600 is better when 35mm Film’s Resolution none Digital is 3651 x 5477 which as you can see is far superior. Im going to do more research on the digital Projection for Theaters to see how better the resolution is.
Yes, 2560×1600 is far better only in terms of watching film in HD/digital format on a computer HD LCD monitor that supports it. Infact, that’s the only way I can watch such is only on a 30″ LCD Gaming computer monitor. As for the 35mm resolution none-digital 3651 x 5477 is nice and higher in terms resolution
numbers but the format kills it because it’s still using analog.
But if those numbers are in digital format or HD then it would hold the crown for the best in picture quality. If you ever make it to Las Vegas, NV hit me up so we can go to one of two DLP Digital-Light-Projection movie theaters. You will love the experience bro far better then anything you’ve ever wasted your money on in terms of watching movies that is.
